Bhindi or Okra is known as lady's finger in many English-speaking countries. It is a flowering plant in the mallow family. It is valued for its edible green seed pods. It is popular in Pakistani and Indian cuisine, where chopped pieces are stir-fried with spices, pickled, salted or added to gravy-based preparations such as bhindi ghosht.
