Prof. Dr.
Qamar-uz-Zaman Chaudhry is a well-reputed Pakistani scientist in the field of
meteorology and climate sciences. He has served as Director General of the
Pakistan Meteorological Department and contributed to its modernisation. He had
been conferred President’s Pride of Performance Award in 1999 and
Sitara-i-Imtiaz in 2011.
He is
serving as adviser to the Ministry of Defence (Govt of Pakistan).
He has
been elected as Vice President of World Meteorological Organisation for the
Asian Region for the four years, during the 15th regional conference held in
Qatar during December 2012.
