LOK MELA has been organized/arranged by Lok Virsa (National Institute of Folk & Traditional Heritage), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (Govt of Pakistan). It has been started at Lok Virsa Museum (Shakar Parrian Hills) Garden Avenue, Islamabad wef 4th to12th June 2011.
The organisers have allocated spacious pavilions to all the 4 provinces together with Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir for showing their indigenous folk culture in a creative and interactive manner.
The Govt of Baluchistan (Department of Culture) has arranged and set up a Balochi pavilion that catches the visitor's eye that reflects the richness of Balochi culture, art, crafts, folk music, rituals, traditional food and folk entertainment etc.
The Balochi contingent includes crafts people, folk artists, folk musicians and dance groups.
