A security post at the top of the Babusar Pass is manned by personnel of GB Scouts and Diamer Police.
Babusar Pass or Babusar Top (4173 m. /13,691 ft.) is a mountain pass at the north of the 150 km. (93 miles) long Kaghan Valley (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) connecting it via the Thak Nala with Diamer (Gilgit Baltistan).
The mountain ranges which enter Mansehra
district from Kashmir are the offshoots of the great Himalayan system. In
Kaghan valley the mountain system is the highest of the area including the
Babusar top. This range flanks the right bank of the Kunhar, contains a peak
(Malika-e-Parbat) of over 17,000 feet, the highest in the district.
Babusar Pass is the
highest point in the Kaghan Valley that can be easily accessed by cars. From
the middle of June up to the end of September the road beyond Naran is open for
traffic right up to Babusar Pass. However, movement is restricted during the
monsoon and winter seasons. The road remains closed from October to June every
year due to heavy snowfall. As a result of its opening, the pass attracts a
large number of local and foreign tourists enjoying the cool weather.
It has a great
potential of tourism that can only be exploited by heavy investment in this
sector. It can generate jobs for the local population and revenue for the
state.

Pyala Lake is an undeveloped Lake, but it has a lot of
significance as it is a Bowl shaped lake on the top of the mountain in the
district of Jalkhad, on the way to Lulusar Lake from Naran.
