China is a time tested and steadfast friend of Pakistan. Relations of Pakistan and China are higher than mountains and deeper than oceans.
Pakistan and China have strengthened their geostrategic positions by entering into an agreement. Pakistan has transferred the operational control of its strategically located deep-sea port of Gwadar to China.

It is the demonstration of economic and strategic cooperation between both the countries. 
For Pakistan; Gwadar port will open following new vistas:

Ø  Lead to prosperity and Global culture
Ø  Boost in Trade
Ø  Generating revenue
Ø  Accelerating industry
Ø  Job opportunities for the masses
Ø  Raising the momentum of economy
Ø  Development of rail and road infrastructure
For China; Gwadar port carries numerous benefits:
·       Shortest import/export route for Xinjiang province
·       Shortest route to reach the lucrative middle east market
·       In addition to above; China’s presence in the oil rich strategic area



An imported electricity from Iran is meeting requirements of districts of Gwadar, Turbat, Panj-Gore and Mand along with Gwadar Deep Sea Port and other areas of the Makran division of the Baluchistan Province and there would be no power shortage in the area for next five years The area would benefit from the power supply leading to promotion of economic and social development.

It is added here that in the past; the Quetta Electric Supply Company (Quesco) had been resorting to 10 to 12 hours load shedding in all areas of the said division in summer.
