The Pakistan Judo
Federation (PJF) is likely to send Shah Hussain Shah to Iran and Spain for
training before he competes at the Rio Olympics in August 2016.
PJF says that Shah Hussain
qualified for the Rio Olympics in under-100kg category. International Judo
Federation (IJF), has confirmed that Shah has sealed a place for the Rio Olympics
under the continental quota. He is the first Pakistani judoka to ever qualify
for the Olympics.
Shah is our only hope [at
the Rio Olympics]. PJF is considering sending him to Iran, Spain or some other
country for training ahead of the Games. We will try our best to provide him
all necessary facilities to help him make a podium finish.

Pakistan
is scheduled to compete at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,
from 5 to 21 August 2016. This is the first time when Pakistan hockey team has
failed to qualify for the Olympics.
Pakistan
has qualified one judoka for the men's half-heavyweight category (100 kg) at
the Games, signifying the nation's Olympic debut in judo. Hussain Shah earned a
continental quota spot from the Asian region, as Pakistan's top-ranked judoka
outside of direct qualifying position in the IJF World Ranking List of May 30,
2016.
Pakistan
has received two invitations from the Tripartite Commission to send shooters
competing in the men's 25 m rapid fire pistol and women's 10 m air rifle,
respectively, to the Olympics.
