The International skiing championship (2017) had happening after a long gap of 11 Years in Malam Jabba, Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Pakistan. It is a famous skiing resort and fetches lots of national and international skiers in winters in this dazzling valley. Swat is an alpine valley with lots of forest, rivers, waterfalls and Lakes. Mahudand , Qandool , Utrol Gabral are prominent lakes of this Valley.
It sounds well that truly tourism
is back in Pakistan. Pakistan’s economy is booming and it is great factor for
tourism industry. Domestic Tourism is improving with every passing year. New
Hotels and resorts are being established. In addition to above well maintained
vehicles, experienced crew is being made available for the tourists by the tour
operators.
Especially with the efforts of
local community who are making good attempts to prosper tourist and hospitality
activities in region. The resumption of ski activities would not only enhance
the tourism in the region but also display the positive image of Pakistan on
the international Scene.

Wildlife
animals are kept in the zoo not only for a recreational purpose, but it is also
used for creating awareness of wildlife conservation and broader environmental
issues. It is a centre for conservation through captive breeding and research
on these animals.
The Lahore
Zoo was established in 1872. It is located at 92 - Shahr-e-Quaid - e - Azam, (Mall Road) Lahore, Pakistan; in the heart
of the city. It is easily accessible to the people belonging to all walks of
life and irrespective of age. It opens daily from 8: 00 a.m. till evening 1/2
Hour before the Sunset.
It is one
of the oldest zoos in the world. It started as a small aviary that was donated
by Mr. Lal Mahundra Ram. Gradually it developed and its animal collection also
increased, today the Zoo houses about 1381 animals of 136 species including 996
birds of 82 species, 49 reptiles of 08 species and 336 mammals of 45 species.
It remained under the management of Lahore Municipal Corporation from 1872 to
1923. Thereafter, its control was given to Deputy Commissioner, Lahore until
1962. Then its management was placed under the Livestock and Dairy Development
Department. Finally the management of Lahore Zoo was entrusted to the Wildlife
& Parks Department in 1982. During the period 1872 to 1982, it remained a
small entity with very little development taking place. Since its transfer to
Wildlife Department 1982 there have occurred a number of changes in housing the
exhibits, layout of buildings, landscape pattern, administration etc with these
initiative/development it become self-financing organization and now it is
self-reliant
Lahore Zoo
gives a pleasant look of old and young trees; here are1280 trees of 71 species it
makes the environment worth living and visiting; with a complete ecosystem.
Pakistan
lacks positive recreational and leisure opportunities. Families choose visiting
zoo for a whole day picnic with their children; as such huge crowds are
attracted by zoos and safari parks on weekends and holidays. People coming from
different walks of life and irrespective of the age visit the zoo. This neutral
gathering can also be utilized as an opportunity for consumer’s education by
the companies offering different products and services, by adopting few animals
and displaying their message on their cages and avail the mileage of their
expense. Outer side of parameter wall of a zoo can also be utilized for
commercial purposes for displaying advertisements etc; that can generate
revenue for the institution. Now come to the present era opportunities offered
by the internet one can start online zoo by putting a camera near the cage and
display (24/7) one’s products and services on one’s website for the information
of general public.

LOK MELA has been organized/arranged by Lok Virsa (National Institute of Folk & Traditional Heritage), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (Govt of Pakistan). It has been started at Lok Virsa Museum (Shakar Parrian Hills) Garden Avenue, Islamabad wef 4th to12th June 2011.
The organisers have allocated spacious pavilions to all the 4 provinces together with Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir for showing their indigenous folk culture in a creative and interactive manner.
The Govt of Baluchistan (Department of Culture) has arranged and set up a Balochi pavilion that catches the visitor's eye that reflects the richness of Balochi culture, art, crafts, folk music, rituals, traditional food and folk entertainment etc.
The Balochi contingent includes crafts people, folk artists, folk musicians and dance groups.
